Welcome to this Spanish class! In this level, you will be expanding on areas of vocabulary and grammar that you have previously worked with, as well as acquiring new grammatical structures and vocabulary. Here is what you can expect to gain specifically, among other things. By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Talk about present and general habits and states in your life, and in the lives of others.
  • Talk about current actions and projects in your life, and in the lives of others.
  • Talk about past events.
  • Talk about past habits, lifestyle, and situations, especially from when you were younger.
  • Talk about future plans and intentions for work, family, studies, and other things.

 Language covered will include:

  • Present simple and present continuous verb tenses
  • Preterite and imperfect verb tenses
  • Immediate future verb tense
  • Direct and indirect object pronouns

In addition, you should be able to:

SPEAK SPANISH – Hold extended conversations about a variety of topics in Spanish. Give descriptions of people and places. Ask follow-up questions and give answers. Describe past and present actions, habits and customs.

UNDERSTAND SPANISH – Grasp information presented in Spanish, such as narratives of other’s past, present, and future lives.

READ SPANISH – Have an active understanding of many Spanish verb forms (present, past, and future) and linking words, and an increasingly large understanding of vocabulary in many different lexical areas, so that you can understand at least 60% of difficult texts (outside of class), and 85% of easier texts (in class).

WRITE SPANISH – Have a command of many regular and irregular Spanish verbs to write about past, present, and future situations, and a solid vocabulary for writing about yourself, your life, your family, your hobbies, your job, your lifestyle and that of others.

¡BUENA SUERTE!  (GOOD LUCK!)
