FOCUS ON LANGUAGE AND GRAMMAR
- Preterite and imperfect verb tenses
- Present perfect and past perfect verb tenses
- Compound and simple future verb structures
- Other structures for talking about plans, intentions, dreams and desires for the future
FOCUS ON SKILLS
In addition, you will be able to:
SPEAK SPANISH – Hold extended conversations about a variety of topics in Spanish (with a special focus on work situations). Give descriptions of people and places. Describe past and present actions, habits and customs. Narrate events and sequences of events in the past. Relate past and present moments, actions, and states to each other.
UNDERSTAND SPANISH – Grasp information presented in Spanish, such as narratives of other’s past, present, and future events, states, experiences, and situations.
READ SPANISH – Have an active understanding of many Spanish verb forms (present, past, and future) and linking words, and an increasing understanding of vocabulary in many different lexical areas, so that you can understand at least 70% of difficult texts (outside of class), and 90% of easier texts (in class).
WRITE SPANISH – Have a command of many regular and irregular Spanish verbs to write about past, present, and future situations, and a solid vocabulary for writing about yourself, your life, your family, your hobbies, your job, your lifestyle and that of others.

- Talk about lifetime experiences, using appropriate verb tenses
- Narrate events and sequences of events in the past
- Relate past and present moments, actions, and states to each other
- Talk about future plans, intentions, goals, and dreams for work, family, studies, and other things
